The Journal of the San Juan Islands,also known as the San Juan Journal,is a weekly newspaper based in Friday Harbor,Washington. The Journal was founded by businessman Oscar G. Wall,with the first issue appearing on September 13,1906. Originally named the Friday Harbor Journal,the paper was intended to compete with the San Juan Islander,which folded in 1914.It was later bought by editor Virgil Frits,who owned it until 1958.
