"Lianhe Zaobao" is Singapore's main Chinese daily newspaper,published by Singapore Press Holdings. Its predecessors were Nanyang Commercial Daily,which was founded in 1923,and Sin Chew Daily,which was founded in 1929. In 1983,the two long-established newspapers merged and jointly published the "Nanyang Sin Chew Lianhe Zaobao",or "Lianhe Zaobao" for short.
